Card with scraps

B'day card
Hello crafty friends ! I am Glad to be back posting after many days.I have a B'day card to share today which is totally made from left over scraps (except the pompom lace trim). Here is what I started from

pile of scrape papers

Looks less ??  ..:D ! I have a huge pile and recently I have started storing them according to size, long strips in long plastic bag, medium square/circular pieces in another plastic bag and smaller ones in small packet.I sorted out pink, cream and orange, peach scraps from the pile .The card base is cut from an invite.I arranged torn strips on base layer with torn edges.

card in making

Then crumpled them  a bit and glued to the base layer.I colored the torn edges of base layer in pink.

card side view
The center strip has some texture while the ones with black pattern are from a tag which I had cut for this card .The doily is hand cut (similar to making snow flakes) and was colored in baby pink for some other project but not used.

card other side view
Rosette are made using tea bag which I had colored pink added peach gauze leaf and pearl to each flower .I had piece of this orange envelope with sentiment ,tore a strip and attached with foam tape.

card laying flat
Still the card looked as if missing something so glues a lace trim  and Finish ! How is it ?

Altered Gift bag

Altered gift bag
Hello Friends ! Sharing an altered gift bag today .I started with a plastic bag which came with washing kit. I loved its bright neon green color and decided to combine it with blue color.

before altering

For the bg I used an interesting technique .I spread some diluted acrylic blue color on a plastic sheet and pressed my paper(which is from shirt packing) over it repeated this till I got desired pattern.

After it was dry, I used home made texture paste ( recipe here) and stencil on it.

Side View
while the texture paste was still wet I sprinkled some white rangoli powder over it for grainy texture.

closer look
Glued silver glitter paper strips and then layered the patterned paper over it.Made the pleated ribbon by folding strips of tissue paper.the lace flowers are from a old dress and the green beads from old bracelet.Layered a doily, flowers and feathers, home made pollens over it .The leaves were cut from crepe paper.

side view
I have decorated it on backside too.

Altered Gift Box

Altered Gift box
Hello Blogger pals !! How are you enjoying your weekend ? Today I have an altered project to share with you all.I started with a Soap cover(Packing) that came with a herbal soap.I loved its shape and texture it had.
Soap cover
Its Eco-friendly as it is made from parts of palm tree which are compressed .It was very pale kraft in color so I gave a very thin coat of brown color as I wanted its texture to be visible. As its dried its not much flexible so have to handle with care, some rough handling it comes to pieces ! You can see the texture here

Soap Cover

It does not close all flat so I glued some jute twine which can be tied to close it .I layered a brown textured paper (from an invite) over it .

and then loaded it with flowers, leaves, colored gauze, small wooden beads to go with the natural them.

Side view
Finished off with a stamped and fussy cut sentiment .How is it ?? does it look like an decorated Easter Egg :D ?

Little Girl (3D Quilling)

Front View
Hello Friends !! I am sharing something which I have missed for long.I was feeling guilty that I didn't quill for months(Which being the main reason for starting this blog). Here I am sharing first post of the year Quilled girl !
Left View

I got my first quilling tool few months back from Itsy Bitsy but didn't even open the packing. Finally got it out.I was so used to quill with fingers that using this tool seemed difficult to me.sometimes the coil would be too tight that it wouldn't come out n sometimes it would be too loose to hold any shape ! Will need some more practicing .
Right View

This little girl is 7cm tall.I made some mistakes but did manage to cover them up(did you spot one ??). I wanted her to have something in her hand but any thing I did looked bigger (not proportionate) so dropped the idea !

Coils quilled with slotted tool have a small hole in center which is OK for other parts but looks bad on face  what do you think ??
