Altered Diary Cover

Altered Diary Cover

Finally managed to finish this altered project Today ! It different from all the projects/cards I have shared on my blog. Its an altered diary cover  with Mix media !

Side View
Started with this dairy, covered it with a paper from wedding invite.Used layers of scrunched packaging tissue to create the texture.

Steps
Initially I had planned to stamp beautiful girl from LaBlanche stamp ,make an oval vintage frame around her and tie a bunch of beaded chains between pen holder n the frame.Then..
I realized it's not a card..Its a dairy !! The cover should be related to it ,not just pretty..hmm..Stamped the girl on a fabric piece (left over) layered few more fabric pieces to give it some weight and stitched them together. Then started a loop of thoughts.. rainbow of dreams..tiny winy ideas..golden memories..

flat

Glued the stamped fabric on cover and used a cord from earphone (which I had already pulled apart to repair but  left them irreparable ;) ) to create the loop( tricky to glue it using white glue)a coat of white acrylic paint on cord, glued pieces of colorful trims from sarees between the loops(DREAMS) n small black beads( ideas)..loop of golden embroidery thread around the stamped image(Memories)..

Close-up
The colorless lady looked very pale so colored her with fabric colors. I have coated a small die-cut with loose glitter and used it as frame. As the steps photo shows I have used empty thread spool to create pen holder .

kept the back very simple with hand-drawn ink pot ,feather and colored lace.I hope this post made some sense ;) Do tell me how you like it ?

Supplies :
Stamp : LaBlanche stamp
