Capture the colors (plus DIY)

Front View
Hello friends !! I am so happy to share today's card .I have been meaning to make a card with camera and the cards shared in CASE Study Anniversary  Blog hop gave me the inspiration.

Layout of my card was inspired by Debby's card.
I am fan of Debby 's work, her card are amazing always n I loved arrangement on this card a lot !

And the vibrant water-colored background from Jocelyn's card.
I was blown away by the bright bg , white die-cuts and wanted to try it as soon as I saw it !
Here is my take ..

Side View
I have used a textured handmade paper as card base. Drew camera on other handmade paper piece and fussy cut it, used it as a guide to water-color around it .I had used handmade paper to lift the excess misted distress ink on some other card ,it came handy to write the  words. As most of my cards everything is handwritten n hand drawn :)

Now the very interesting part..How is the Washi tape ? didn't notice ?? the film strip ..
What will be your reaction if  I tell you it can be created in three steps that too from basic supplies ??(not my original idea ,lots of bloggers have already shared it ,I am sharing my version )

Step 1 : Take a tissue paper of your choice (colored, printed) .I took a plain one

Step 2: Adhere a double side tape gently removing wrinkles if any (unless you want a textured tape :D ).
Do not remove the backing.

DIY Washi tape
Step 3.Draw,stamp,doddle, color what ever pattern you want ,This can be done in Step1 also but tissue being delicate can tear.I drew the film strip with black marker pen .Cut the strips of size you want and peel the backing to use it !

I hope it is useful, tell me if you like it :) .

Limited Edition

Card Front
Hello, I have a layered CAS card to share Today !
I have used handmade paper for my card base.I heat embossed chevrons on card stock panel through hand-cut stencil. Then I used a fun n easy technique to color the embossed panel.Dabbed Distress inkpad directly on a plastic sheet, misted water and pressed the embossed panel over it for water-colored look.

Side View

After the panel dried I cut them into strips and adhered them on card base with foam tape.Still the bg needed something so drew some arrows with black marker to complete it.

Side View
Now comes the masculine part.I had planned to draw a face silhouette and started to sketch faces on a rough sheet they turned everything from cute to rowdy but decent  :( .SO the easy way out was bowler hat, glasses n mustache drew them, colored with Distress ink and fussy cut, used foam tape to adhere them on Tag.

Card lying flat

"Limited Edition" was cut from a brand tag.The theme was to wish a guy and tell him how limited Gentleman(Like him) are these days :) !

Ahoy Mate

Sea Themed card
Hello Friends..Hope you are enjoying rains n the pleasant weather :) Today  I have a sea themed card to share with you.
For  the background I followed the technique shared by Tim Holtz in OCC -Watercolors using stencil with distress inks.I Used Peacock feathers distress ink with yellow water color.
Watercolored background

Aren't these color refreshing..specially in Summers. It reminds me of beach holidays during summer vacation collecting shells, making sand castles or just having fun in waves !

Side View
Perfect theme to put all the shells I had collected to use :) Gave a coat of white acrylic paint and then colored with them diluted distress ink n water color.
side view

Layered jute ,cheese cloth and packing net and then glued the shells on it.For the anchor I cut out the shape from thick cardboard and then applied ceramic powder + glue mixture on it and after it dried colored it and embellished it with beaded chain.

shells n anchor
I have continued the background pattern inside.
