Birthday card

Welcome to my blog dear blogger friends.Sharing a card today ! I have followed the Mood board shared by Becca and CASED Tenia Nelson of Jazzy Paper Designs!

Birthday card
I have used colors purple n teal, watercolors(DI) ,confetti (sequins)and the birdie from Becca's moodboard.I love Tenia's card making style its trendy ! My card has not turned even 1% trendy ,but atleast I tried ! Started by creating the pattern on watercolor paper with distress ink n stencil.I have used ink smoshing technique for the purple circle, matted it on glitter paper.Purple color is bit darker and has slight shimmer in real ,seems faded in the pics :(

Birthday card
Heat embossed the image on black card stock .Then I stamped birdie on a pp and paper pieced it. Finished off with paper strips n sequins.

Faux-wood Holder + tutorial

faux-wood holder
Welcome to my blog ! I have an reusing project to shared with you all .
I  will keep it short and get started with the tutorial,

faux-wood holder tutorial
Faux-wood holder tutorial

I had very shabby chic holder in mind and at this stage I planned to give it a coat of gesso  or a nice white wash and then add some very bright cabbage roses on top, that is the reason for the texture strip ! It didn't look that good So PLAN CHANGED !

Faux-wood holder tutorial
LSG sprays gave very nice shimmer to the holder ,I went on adding various colors to bring out the textures.Highlighted  using pearl paint .

faux-wood holder back
I didn't want to add any embellishments and let the texture shine :)

But still it needed something to cover the grainy texture strip at Top.I used dry twigs from a creeper to make the word "SAVE" .

From Box to a Gift Bag

Mixed Media Gift Bag

Hello friends I have a gift bag to share with you.

Mixed Media Gift Bag

I have up-cycled /reused a packaging box for this bag.

Packaging box altered into Gift Bag
Created the background by ink smooshing technique with Distress inks than sponging same inks through stencil. After that applied texture paste through a handcut chevron stencil.

Mixed Media Gift Bag
The circle frame is handcut and colored with LSG magical and has some loose glitter over it .The leaves are die-cut.Do you like the sparky flower ? I have tried something different for it .Applied texture paste through a stencil on acetate sheet and while the paste was still wet poured loose glitter over it.

Creating flowers on Acetate
After it was completely dry. I placed the stencil over it once again and applied gel medium to seal the glitter.Applied few dots of stickles in center.

I am very Happy to share that my dear friend Deepti has invited me as Guest Designer for a Special challenge on her personal blog Catchy Designs. The challenge is sponsored by  Papericious and winner of this challenge would be receiving the gorgeous 12 by 12 Vintage Rosewood Paper pad.

All you have to do is create a card based on below inspiration pic.
Inspiration pic
Isn't it TRENDY ? I was instantly drawn towards bold colors.I have hardly used such color combos on my projects So was something new for me.I loved the colors so much that I created not 1 but 2 cards.Have a look..

Tried graphic look on first one.I was inspired by first two images in the pic and chevrons.Made the strips pattern on the cardbase with markers and layered two paper circles over it.

The chevrons are cut from various papers and tag is inked with peacock feathers DI and word JOY is hand cut. Now my second card.

Its inspired by the grey door and vases filled with neon sand.Started by painting the bg with DI to create a blue strip pattern(which is hardly visible) then tore a piece of grey patterned paper and adhered it to the base

The vase is cut from vellum colored with neon paint and flower is paper pieced from pp and colored with DI n LSG spray.Wrote the words with brush :) and made some splatters with black paint.Finished by drawing  bricks pattern with orange paint.

A big THANK YOU to Deepti for  inviting me as GD ! I hope I have inspired you to join in ,You have 10 days to link up your creation .Don't miss the chance to win a fab paper pack !
