Altered box

Altered Packaging box
Hello Friends,I have an altered box to share with you all.

Altered Packaging box side  using Lablanche stamp
Started by creating the background by using Heidi Swap teal mist on glossy cardstock. After it dried applied distress inks (Peacock feathers ,scattered straw, mustard seed) through various stencils(harlequin, triangles, square, hexagon).

Then stamped the numbers using rubber stamp randomly.Made the panels by cutting the cardstock according to the box size.

Background created with mist, stencil and inks

Stamped the images using various rubber stamps(Tim holtz blueprint sketch,LaBlanche stamp) and Archival ink on panels.Colored them loosely with acrylic colors.

Wrote quotes/words related to "Dream" and some more writing on the background.
Used a stencil (Imaginarium : Peacock feather) to draw the butterfly and made dots pattern with black marker.

I also decorated the inside of the box.

I have written sentiments on my cards many times but Thanks to Lessology's current challenge ,I realized having good handwriting is not enough , The size n fonts matter too. Now that the box is done ,I think the words should be smaller and I should have mixed some fonts n sizes too. What do you think ?

Guest Designing for PABD - Part 2

Pattern created with damask stamp set
Welcome to Part 2 of my Guest Designing projects for Peek-A-Boo designs. I am sharing the projects made using the Damask stamp set. This set has so many beautiful patterns and so many ways to use them.I did 2 tone stamping with pigment inks ,Its first time I have used pigment inks for some serious stamping .

Sentiment stamped on vellum
Used the smallest design from the set to create the pattern and connected them with small dots.Stamped the sentiment from Stringy sentiment set on vellum and adhered a glitter strip for interest.

Background created by heat embossing
Second card with damask pattern is very much in my usual style.Heat embossed the pattern on glossy card stock and sponged salty oceans distress ink to bring out the embossing.

Embellished with ready made flower and stamped ,fussy cut leaves.
The beautiful violet flower is a gift from my Friend VijayLakshmi. Layered a fruit packaging net below the flowers. The leaves are from same stamp set some heat embossed and some are stamped with dye ink.

Label created using flourish stamp
How do you like the label beneath the sentiment stamp ? I created it using small flourish stamps from the set.

Now the final project an Altered box .
Original Packaging box
I had this packaging box and the damask pattern seemed perfect to give it an elegant look.

Altered box
Used Picked Raspberry Distress ink for the pink layer.Stamped the pattern with versamark ink and then brushed gold metallic powder over it .

Altered box side view
Got this beautiful vintage golden pattern .Didn't need any additional embellishments just few pearls. This brings to the end of my GD post Hope you enjoyed it .Thanks for visiting my blog.

Guest Designing for PABD - Part 1

Hello friends Today I am very excited to share my post as Guest Designer for Peek-A-Boo designs.I won their february challenge and got this opportunity. I would like to Thank Vidhushi Saraf and Entire Peek-A-Boo Designs team for giving me this opportunity .

Clear stamps from Peek-A-Boo designs
I received these stamps from PABD and I am proud to say that these are Made in India , high quality stamps. I enjoyed using them with different inks and the results were crisp n clear images.
I made bunch of cards using them and sharing them in two parts to avoid a lengthy post. As Holi festival is approaching soon I am sharing holi themed cards first.

Happy holi watercolored card
I am sure my Indian friends must have recognized the flowers .They are called Palash in Hindi and aptly called Flame of Forest in English .They are first to bring the news of coming holi festival and it is said Nature also plays holi through them. I drew the flowers and colored them using watercolor pencils.

Ink smooshed background
Ink smooshing in the background. Don’t you love that big, bold sentiment ? The twine is Gift from Yvonne and the fresh green card stock from Sathya.
Next card is simple one layered card .

One layered Happy holi card
Stamped the happy holi by inking the stamp with various inks in Rainbow colors. Then misted it with water to get the colors mix a bit.

Multi ink stamping
Masked the sentiment using post-it note and then played with watercolors to create a fun background.
