Tall mixed media card

Mixed Media Anniversary card
Hello blogger friends ! Hope you are enjoying the weather were your are ,We finally received rains after a harsh summer and severe drought.Such a relief ,everything is so fresh n green now ! Coming to the card ,Its a tall (4x7) mixed media card.

Mixed Media Anniversary card
Sharing the steps .

Background piece with texture paste applied through stencil over it.
I started with a old background piece from my stash. Its a thin cardboard sheet (shirt packaging) with left over paints from Shaving Foam technique(Its 2 year old piece !!).I didn't like the color combo much so,Applied Rangers Texture paste through a floral stencil to cover it and add texture.

Gave a coat of Gesso and glued gauze bandage strip ,lace and few handmade flowers.

Time to add some color.I used a pigment powder that is used to make colored water for playing holi (festival of colors for my non Indian friends) ! Mixed the powder in plain water and applied on the card.

Applied gesso to tone down the colors in some areas.Added few hand cut leaves to the floral spray.Splattered the left over colors, white paint.Layered the piece on colored paper and adhered it to the card base. The sentiment is print out .
