Hello friends ! My posts are getting sparse and that too with long gap , festive time ! Having said that I have something interesting coming next week :) keep a eye on this place .

Today I have a card I made for current Altenew Challenge, tried to stick to the inspiration colors very closely . I could finally put that beautiful dodec cover plate die cut (Altenew) to use .I have been just hoarding it since my friend Karthika gifted it !

The flowers are from Renne Rose Stamp (Altenew).I watercolored them with the only technique that i know " no-line" colouring !The gold embossed sentiment is from Magnolias for her stamp set  (Altenew)

Hello friends I am so glad I have something to share today ! I have been away from card making for a while and now I am struggling to come up with a decent card , So trying to get back the mojo by playing along few challenges.

The cute pigs are from MFT thanks to Anila I can play along their sketch challenge.

The card is  quite simple I  have followed the sketch to the T ;) Not much modifications. I have used my newest DO inks for blending and Mudra pixel stamp the grid, sentiment handwritten !

CrafTreat GD post - Part 2

Hello friends ! I am back with Part 2 of my GD Post. Thank you for the overwhelming response to part 1.I am so happy you all loved the cards .. Like the previous post l will share some more techniques to use stencils on cards.

1. Using stencil with Acetate  & texture paste

Have you tried stamping through stencils?

This beautiful Anemone flower has four layers. I did stamping for first layer while for 2 and 3 layered I applied texture paste on Acetate so the base layer is still visible and finally for the center i did gold heat embossing .

You can see the different layers in this image.

2. Using Paints and pigments with Stencil

This lovely rose comes in three layers.

I mixed LSG magicals with white acrylic paint and applied through the stencil.

I kept the base layer lightest ,increasing the amount of pigment for next layers.
It is better to apply the paint using sponge rather than a brush (you can see the uneven texture !)

3. Gel and Glitter

One more card using the Rose 2 Stencil. I skipped the base layer ,inked the second one and for third layered i applied a mix of ink, acrylic gel and loose glitter.

4. Using just the outlines

I loved the modern look of the Lilly flower from Tiger lilly stencil.

For this card I traced just the outlines of the flowers with white gel pen using both layers on the stencil.

Colored them lightly with Prisma color pencils.

5. Heat embossing on vellum

I have white heat embossed first layer of lillies and inked the vellum from back to make the second layer more visible.

One of the flower is popped using foam tape.

I drew just the outlines for the leaves and flowers in the background.I Thank Priya and team for giving me this opportunity.

Altenew Florals

Hello friends ! Today I am sharing a card I had made for a very dear friend. I can share it now as she has received it already .

I went for my favorite no-line Watercoloring technique using liquid watercolors Pumpkin orange ,Rosewood ,evergreen, poison ivy (from Craftangles ) Its a delight to color these large blooms from WallPaperArt stamp(from Altenew)

Rather than keeping it one layer i did some fussy cutting and stencilling with texture paste.

The sentiment comes from one my most used stamp set Wishing you (W&W).

Guest designing for CraftTreat -Part 1

Hello friends ! Today I am sharing the cards I made for CraftTreat GD Post.Have you checked the latest layered floral stencils released this month ? When Priya said " You won't stop creating once you start using these stencils " little did I realise how true she was ! Believe me you won't need layered stamps if you have these stencils. The Stencil are large enough to add details and very easy to layer.I had blast creating cards with these beautiful floral stencils. I will share the technique used along with cards, lets begin

1. Ink Blending with Stencils

Its the most popular and easiest technique with stencils.

I used Salty Oceans Distress ink and Danube blue memento Ink for these pansies and added few details with brush pens, white gel pen.

I Clear heat embossed the pansies after fussy cutting for extra shine.

2.Ink blending + Pencil Coloring

For this card I started by layering inks through Tulips stencil on textured pink cardstock.

They look beautiful on their own.We can easily give it more dimensional look with pencil coloring like I did with Prisma color pencils.

3.Stencil on Solid colored card stock.

Aren't those peonies beautiful ? The Peony-2 stencil has three layers .Rather than inking the solid layer I used a colored cardstock as base layer and inked other two layers on top of it.

I added I few details with black and white pens for modern look on the peonies. If you are thinking its consuming to fussy cut then let me tell you that these peonies being large are very easy to cut.

4. Watercolouring with stencils

My favorite technique! I used the stencil as guide for colouring.I gave a very light wash through the solid shape and after it was completely dry painted the next layer.

You have to be careful with the amount of water, as it may seep through the stencil ,if it does gently remove the stencil and lift the excess water with dry brush or tissues.

After painting all the layers using stencil i softened the lines to get more natural look and painted additional details.

How did you like the cards ? I would love to know if you have any favorite technique to use with Stencils.Stay tuned for part -2!

I am very grateful to Priya and CraftTreat team for giving me this opportunity to use the stencils and showcase them on  CrafTreat blog.
