Ombre Overload !

Everything on this card except the lion is colored in ombre colors, including the sentiment!

I started by stamping the cute lion from Birthday lions set (Heffy doodle) on watercolor paper masked it and drew additional images around it.

It was high time I realize that inks are not just for stamping or colouring but you can blend ink on the card base too! Did some inking on card base before adhering the watercolored panel. I also stamped a punny sentiment inside.

Nurture the Nature

Do you see a watering can?
I wanted to create a card on “Nature” theme but something different from the usual approach! This is when the double exposure effect came to my mind.

I started by drawing a watering can and cutting out a mask out of it. I used the negative for stamping the floral images (stamp from CraftyScrappers). I also drew some additional details to fill in the scene.

The card looked empty, So I made few splatters and finished with simple hand written message.

Neon Lights Take 2

I was not happy with the layout of my previous Neon lights inspired card which called for take 2 ;)

I followed a sketch and used negative of circle mask for stamping the images. I used Prisma color pencils to get the neon lights look after white heat embossing.

Just one single stamp set “Party Hangover(W&W)” for the entire card including the sentiment inside.

If you are wondering how the black looks so jet black ..answer is black archival ink !

GD post for Craftangles

Hello my creative friends! I am sharing the last post as Craftangles guest Designer today. Special Thanks to Khyati and Craftangles Team for giving me this opportunity to use the liquid watercolors and to showcase my cards on their blog.
By now you all must have realized how much I love these Liquid watercolors and I am always on look out for different techniques to use them .The easiest and most popular technique is emboss resist which I have shared earlier. For my card I have paired it with Color blocking to get Ombre look!

Started by White heat embossing the cute images from Merry muffins Stamp set (from Stampendous) then masked of the areas and painted broad strips using Egg Plant ,Rose wood and Ripe plums Liquid watercolors . You could add even more colors like Egg plant, Rose wood, Victorian rose, ripe plums, Soul mate for more detailed Ombre effect.

For next card I started by painting a strip of card stock with Pumpkin Orange and Rose wood Liquid watercolor and cut out the words .I then clear embossed the strip to make it more sturdy and for shine.

On the cardbase I stamped the large flowers from Woodware Craft stamps with dark brown ink.
Splattered same watercolors colors on the flower to tie up the card design and finished off with jute twine and handwritten sentiment strip

Next I created a bokeh background by negative painting .The colors used are Pretty Peony and Poolside Liquid watercolors.

I used one of the backgrounds for next two cards

These cards are highly inspired by Alex Syberia’s card making style.

Check this striped bg.

I used leftover colors on my acrylic block. The colors are Pool side, Poison Ivy, Pumpkin Orange, Lemon tart mixed with each other.

The tulips are from “Just a note” stamp set and I have used dots stencil to apply texture paste to create a bit of texture on the cardbase.

This brings to the end my GD stint at Craftangles. Hope you enjoyed seeing all the cards I made using Liquid watercolors. The feedback and appreciation I received from you all has helped me to improve my card making skills, I am really grateful for this opportunity.

Meet the king !

Isn’t it how one wishes to be treated on birthdays ? specially young kids !

The cute lions are from birthday lions stamp set( Heffy doodles). Did stamping along with some drawing for the bg  and the main image was stamped separately on watercolor paper, colored with brush pens and fussy cut.

Does this make you smile ?

Inspired by Neon lights

Did I succeed in creating neon light sign effect? I wanted to try this out since long and finally managed.

One of the reason I wanted color pencils was coloring on colored cardstock. Haven’t explored them much yet!

I was surprised how easy this technique is, just white heat embossing and coloring! The letters have yellow and orange halo(less visible on card) while the bunny has purple glow. I could have done better job but was so happy with that neon glow effect that layout took a backseat! I have used The Party Hangover stamp (W&W)
